Infinite Strength

Infinite Strength

When Roberta Lombardi received her breast cancer diagnosis in August 2016, little did she know that her journey would pave the way for a new endeavor, Infinite Strength. The organization, which she founded, aims to enhance accessibility to medical treatments for all breast cancer patients. Additionally, it assists Smilow Cancer Hospital patients in covering expenses not covered by insurance, significantly impacting the healing process both physically and emotionally.

“Last Thanksgiving, my hair was growing back after having lost it all during chemotherapy, and I was beginning to regain my positive attitude, much of which had left me during my cancer treatment.”

As Roberta reflected on her cancer journey, she recognized the financial ease with which she was able to afford many additional expenses, such as wigs, headscarves, and transportation costs, thanks to the care she received. This realization inspired her to create Infinite Strength to aid those who struggle with the financial burden of cancer treatment.

Roberta, with previous careers as a corporate event planner and a cooking and entertaining instructor, discovered her own breast lump during a breast self-exam. She was swiftly diagnosed with stage 1A invasive breast cancer, requiring additional treatment due to its triple-positive nature. Despite facing aggressive treatment, Roberta expressed gratitude for the compassionate care she received at Smilow Cancer Hospital.

“My husband of nineteen years was so supportive. He was amazing, coming with me to every treatment.”

Upon completing treatment, Roberta found herself grappling with the adjustment to life post-treatment, a common challenge for cancer survivors. Recognizing the need for continued support and positivity, she launched Infinite Strength, which has since raised $50,000 to support breast cancer patients in various ways.

Roberta's journey, marked by resilience and compassion, serves as a beacon of hope for many. Through Infinite Strength, she continues to uplift and support cancer patients, embodying the spirit of perseverance and encouragement.
